Essentials Challenge
Here is mine
CARDSTOCK - Bazzill - I love all colours but it must be textured.
PATTERNED PAPER - I am loving paisleys at the moment and I am a sucker for stripes.
OLFA ROLLER CUTTER, PERSPEX RULERS AND SELF HEALING MAT - I came to scrapbooking from patchwork and quilting, and I find my old supplies quite useful.
WORDS - stickers, handwriting, journalling, quotes, lyrics. It doesn't matter where I get them, my layouts are not finished with meaningful words.
CAMERA - Fugi Finepix 5600 Digital Camera - I love it. I always have it with me.
STAPLER and MAKING MEMORIES(MM) COLOURED STAPLES - I use these to attach ribbon, paper, card and simply to decorate.
MM MAGNETIC STAMPS - rummage and evolution fonts and embellishments. I recieved these for Christmas and already they have become an essential.

My word - ORGANISE
I have been searching for quotes that reinforce my word.
Here are a few dealing with organising my wants and things.
Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. ~William Morris
You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need. ~Vernon Howard
Reduce the complexity of life by eliminating the needless wants of life, and the labors of life reduce themselves. ~Edwin Way Teale
The scultptor produces the beautiful statue by chipping away such parts of the marble block as are not needed - it is a process of elimination. ~ Elbert Hubbard
I feel that I have too many possessions and no homes for these things to live. As Part of my "organise" challenge, I wish to contain my "need"/"want" for things and organise my home to be able to easily use the things I have. Even just putting this down in words is liberating.Saturday, January 13, 2007

Last Six Weeks
I'm out of breath just writing it all down.
My friend, Stripey Tiger, had just put a link to this blog on her blog. She describes me as someone who knits, quilts and scraps. I thought she was lying, but she knows me better than I know myself.
Knitting - As a novice knitter, I knit scarves and wraps. I have found a nice pattern at BigW for a wrap/scarf, which I am now half way through.
Quilting - I now have photos of the quilt for Lauren and am making both a girl and boy one

commitment to the friendship is greater than my commitment to finishing that UFO. LOL), a wedding quilt for brother Craig and Wendy (married 18months ago, and due to having pending niece/nephew) .
Scrapping - I have completed thre LOs for Mum's Birthday and and working on some for Mother's Day. I have a new camera which I am loving and have taken some fab shots of the kids.

I have scrapped this once for myself but I think every member of my family will get this photo at some point this year. It is just on of those perfect photos, capturing their spirit.
I am starting to work in rectangles (8.5 x 11) and smaller squares (6x 6). I am definitely having fun.
Once I have finished the scarf, I'll let you see it as I am sooo proud.
